Read more than the resolution badge
Resolution describes the dimensions of the delivered picture. It does not describe the source restoration, compression, color handling or suitability of your screen. A well-presented older film can look better than a poorly prepared edition with a larger number beside it.
Choose quality where playback happens
Watch now opens viewing options. The selected service controls the available HD, 1080p and 4K editions, device support and player settings. Check the plan and edition information there. The catalog does not apply a 4K badge to every film simply because a 4K television can open the page.
If playback keeps stopping
Try a lower setting when the player supports it, pause other heavy traffic and test whether the problem occurs on other titles. Automatic quality can adapt to changing conditions, sometimes at the cost of temporary softness. Avoid changing several settings at once, which makes it difficult to know what helped.
Keep the original aspect ratio and compare subtitle readability from your normal seat. A stretched picture that fills the screen is not an improvement over the intended composition.
